Rin (Sumire Sato) is a girl who sells matches. The buyers of the matches can fulfill their dreams by lighting the match, but they are also playing with fire. Based on manga series "Match Shoujo" by Sanami Suzuki (first published 2014 in monthly seinen manga magazine Young Ace). "Match Shoujo" is motivated by the short story “The Little Match Girl” written by Hans Christian Andersen and published in 1845.

The Little Match Girl is a short story by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a dying child's hopes and dreams, and was first published in 1845. This adaptation was made for Harlech TV and broadcast on 28th December 1986 and starred Twiggy and Roger Daltrey, and features the song 'Mistletoe and Wine' which became a Christmas number one for Cliff Richard in 1988, the biggest selling record of that year.

The Match is a reality TV show on Sky One in which a group of celebrities form a football team to compete against a team of former professional footballers. The show begins with a large squad of celebrities who train and live together, all aiming to be selected for "The Match" against the team of legends. The show has also been published in Switzerland in 2006 and 2008 on SF 2.In Great Britain, three editions of the programme have been made, one in early 2004, one in late 2005 and one in October 2006. The program is hosted by Mark Durden-Smith, Ulrika Jonsson and Zoë Ball. The matches are played at St James' Park, Newcastle. In the Swiss version, the matches were held at Espenmoos in St. Gallen and at Allmend Stadion in Lucerne.
